What is a Pawn?

A pawn is using an item, your firearms, as collateral to borrow money. If you choose to pawn your firearm, that firearm is used as collateral to borrow an amount of money agreed upon by both parties following a quick and fair appraisal process.  In Georgia, a pawn is a 30-day contract. You have 30 days to either redeem & pick up your pawn by paying the borrowed amount plus an interest fee, or if you need more time, you can pay the interest fee and extend your pawn another 30 days. All redemptions of a firearm that are in pawn require a federal background check before the firearm can be released back to the owner.
